Did you know an average 14-16 year old spends almost 5 hours a day on digital devices? We conducted a survey across 2,000 parents in the UK with children aged between 2 and 16, to find out how often our children actually use digital devices. The issues surrounding childhood obesity have been hammered home to us in recent years, but what about our children’s digital diet, and in particular, the impact this has on their eyesight?

In an age where tablets, smartphones and laptops are an integral part of our daily lives, our children are growing up to be more tech-savvy than ever, and technology plays an important part of their ongoing learning and development.

While it is important to embrace technology and integrate it into a child’s learning programme, we must also be aware of how to do this responsibly and ensure their eyesight is not compromised, especially in their earlier years.
