How Do I Find An Alternative To EasyVision Dailies?

Good Morning,

I currently wear Specsavers EasyVision daily Sential Base Curve 8.6.

Dia: 14.00
Power: -1.5 (Left); -1.25 (Right)

I don't wear them every day, but when I do wear them I have them in for long periods 8 hours plus.

Is there an alternative that you can recommend? I am struggling to find an alternative with the same base curve. Is this critical?

Optician’s Answer

Wearing your contact lenses for long periods of time could be damaging for the health of your eye. It is important to give your eyes a break. Your optician will give you an individual wearing schedule based on the health of your eye, as everyone has different tolerances.

A silicone hydrogel material is usually used by people who need to wear their contact lenses for longer periods of time. You will need to have a contact lens fitting with your optician before changing over to any new lens type. This is to ensure that the new lens and material is suitable for you.

It is important that you only order contact lenses to the exact prescription your optician has provided, even a slight difference in the base curve measurement can cause discomfort and blurred vision.

The base curve affects how a contact lens sits on the front surface of the eye, changing this value incorrectly can mean that you end up with a tight or loose fitting contact lens.
